Since JM, EB and JW were all out this morning, I got to pick their quotes. All of their quotes and mine were found when I did a search for Veteran’s day quotes.

I am still amazed every time I think of our Armed Forces and all those that serve our country.

So, today, let’s remember the points from the quotes above.

Don’t take for granted the very thing that most deserves our gratitude. Make it a point to thank any and all veterans you know today.

Courage is a contradiction in terms. Our courageous soldiers are fighting for our lives and freedom every day, despite the fact that they themselves are put in harm’s way in doing so.

A hero gives his or her life to something bigger than themselves. Our soldiers fight not only for themselves, but for the larger ideals of liberty, justice, democracy and the other American ideals that embody our awesome country.

Live in a state of gratitude for our Armed Forces. For me personally this means that every time I see a man or woman in uniform I go over to them and say thank you for their service. Whatever form this takes for you, make sure it involves some kind of action on your part.

Thanks to all our veterans on this Veteran’s Day 2011.

A special thanks to those Mavideans that have served (Jamie, Jamie and Ron that I know of for sure, speak up if you did as well) and also to those others that get this email that have served as well.

Make it a great weekend.

Jake
