I love the thought of constantly stretching and outgrowing our old selves.

I have these mental pictures of myself being stretched like a Stretch Armstrong, breaking out of a shell, or standing in front of the mirror wearing some flood pants (like the kids do when they grow out of their jeans).

I have come to realize that just because I quit getting taller at some point during my high school years doesn’t mean that I quit growing. I was actually just beginning.

Find an area of your life you need to outgrow.

Picture yourself as this new person that has outgrown this old habit.

Now start making it a reality.

I knew that I had to use the quote from Margaret Mead above today for Mavidea’s 5th birthday.

It is a great reminder of what we are really doing every day when we come in here.

We are changing the world.

Don’t underestimate for a second our importance and the impact you make here at Mavidea.

We can and do make a difference and have done so for 5 years now.

And as I said earlier, it is just a start.

Today is the first day of the next 5 years, let’s make them something even more amazing to look back on with pride and amazement.

Since Monday is Memorial Day, I thought I would send out the letter Abraham Lincoln wrote to Mrs. Bixby again.

I know I have sent it out before, but for some reason it really affected me and I wanted to share it again.

Let’s all remember to take a moment of silence this weekend to appreciate those that have given their lives for our freedom. What a tremendous debt of gratitude we owe.

I have been listening to the Direct Line series by Earl Nightingale again and he quoted the Thoreau quote above.

I remember hearing it the first time when I listened to this series a year or so ago and how much this quote really stuck with me.

For some reason, I have this lasting mental image of someone moving confidently forward and up towards their dreams.
