Mr. Blue Sky – the weather is changing here in Central Illinois.

Time to appreciate the blue sky when it happens and the amazing sunsets that we are lucky enough to see.

There is so much to be thankful for.

Make it a great day.

Personally I’m always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught. – Winston Churchill

An important step in moving towards growth and progress is admitting that there is room for growth.

To admit that we have something to learn.

Maybe to even admit that someone knows more than we do.

Humility is one of those habits of character that allow for so much good to flow in to our lives.

Make it a great day.

26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[a] 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. – Matthew 6:26-34

Any time I feel the anxiousness creeping in, I try to remind myself of the verses above.

It’s so easy to fall into the trap of worrying.

Our minds appear to have a natural tendency towards worry and anxiety.

But I believe God has a different plan for us.

Promises like joy and peace are there for us if we can renew our mind and put the right thoughts in.

If you’re feeling a lot of anxiety lately, read these versions again. Maybe every day. Renew your mind with these timeless truths.

Make it a great day.

Meaghan and I got to go watch the new movie “The Blind” on Sunday.

The moves tells the story of how Phil Robertson found Jesus and turned his life around.

The story was a great reminder that no matter how much you’ve messed up, there is still hope in Jesus.

One of my favorite parts of their story is how his wife Miss Kay stuck with him, prayed for him and was there when it all turned around. On the other side of it all, they have this beautiful story to tell.

She pushed through the hard times in her own simple way, playing a role in a story that was bigger and better because she did her part well.

We all have a part to play in making this world a better place.

We may not be the one that has the amazing turn around (or maybe we will be) but we can all be a part of something bigger.

In some small way, that’s what we are doing at Maxlider and Mavidea. Playing our role in the story of our coworkers and customers.

If we can stay faithful with our part, the story is worth telling.

Make it a great day.

“Every task, goal, race and year comes to an end…therefore, make it a habit to FINISH STRONG.” — Gary Ryan Blair

4th quarter officially began yesterday.

We have three months left in 2023.

Three months left to finish strong. To decide now that we are going to finish what we started this year.

Make it a great day.

One of the unique things about living in one of the flattest areas of the country are the sunrises and sunsets.

As fall moves forward we will get more and more opportunities to enjoy the views.

It’s hard not to feel appreciative of this wonderful place we get to live when you see the sky lit up so creatively and beautifully.

Enjoy the changing season.

Make it a great day.

"Treat your body like a temple, not a woodshed. The mind and body work together. Your body needs to be a good support system for the mind and spirit. If you take good care of it, your body can take you wherever you want to go, with the power and strength and energy and vitality you will need to get there." — Jim Rohn

Like a lot of Jim Rohn’s wisdom and quotes this one falls into the category of a reminder.

We all know that we should treat our body’s well.

Maybe I don’t treat mine like the wood shed, but temple would be a stretch.

Maybe when you read this quote, some aspect of your health came to mind.

Maybe your weight.

Maybe your diet.

Maybe exercise.

Maybe a bad habit you need to kick.

Whatever it was, pick one thing and make today the day you get started making your body a temple.

Make it a great day.

Happiness is the natural flower of duty. – Phillips Brooks

Think of who or what you feel a duty to.

Think of what makes you happy.

Feels like there is a Venn diagram there that would be a meaningful point of understanding for many of us.

When we commit to something that means something to us we find joy and happiness.

Make it a great day.

Nature knows no pause in progress and development, and attaches her curse on all inaction. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Time marches on. Time waits for no man.

This quote says it well.

I especially like the mental picture of “attaches her curse on all inaction”.

A bias towards action is required. Time and life will take you down stream if you try to stand still.

Forward progress requires constant activity and attention.

Keep ‘er movin’.

Make it a great day.

“Welcome every morning with a smile. Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator, another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday. Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again. Don’t waste it with a false start or no start at all. You were not born to fail.” ~ Og Mandino

Start your day off right.

Let your first hour set the theme for the day.

How do your days usually start?

Try it today to make your first hour a great one.

Read something inspirational.

Exercise.

Hug and kiss your loved ones.

Say a prayer of thanks for all your blessings.

Knock something off your to do list.

Whatever would be a great start to the day for you, do it.

Make it a great day.
