Success.com recently published an article on the 4 things you can learn from kids.

I know that my kids have taught me something about each one of these 4.

Curiosity

Excitement

Trust

Faith

Spend some time with a kid this week. Try and pick up a lesson or two.

Make it a great day.

Rohn: 4 Things You Can Learn from Your Child | SUCCESS
Remember the master teacher once said 2,000 years ago, “Unless you can become like little children, your chances are zero; you haven’t got a prayer.” This is a major consideration for adults. Be like children, and remember there are four ways to be more like a child no matter how old you get… 1. Curiosity – Refresh your perspective on life and practice being child-like.

The Phrase That Pays

JD – And the turtles, of course… all the turtles are free; As turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be. – Dr. Seuss

EB* – How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. – A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh

JW – In case of doubt, attack! – George S. Patton

MS* – But very quickly they all became grave again: for, as you know, there is a kind of happiness and wonder that makes you serious. It is too good to waste on jokes. – C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia

BAD – You get a cheeseburger! And you get a cheeseburger! And you get a cheeseburger!

Lately I have been reading The Chronicles of Narnia series with Maggie.

It has been a great reminder that just because a book is for kids, it doesn’t mean there isn’t a whole lot I can learn from it.

Was there a book that really touched you where you were a kid?

Pick it up and read it again (with your kids if you have any).

Make it a great day.

You were born to win. But to be the winner you were born to be you have to plan to win and prepare to win. Then and only then can you expect to win. – Zig Ziglar

It all starts with our belief that we were born to win.

Once we have that belief we can then get to work on the preparing and planning.

Then we can legitimately expect to win.

What step are you on?

Make it a great day.

Meaghan and the girls were gone last night and I had this weird moment when I realized the entire house was quiet (needless to say, but quiet moments are rare at our house with 3 small children that are full of life).

The thought crossed my mind that before I know it, the house will be quiet again once the children have grown up and gone on to live their lives.

This reminded me that my time with the kids will be short and that I should cherish that opportunity.

Yesterday I wrote about the opportunity each of us has to believe in others and to encourage them through our belief.

Last night was a reminder that we don’t have forever to do it.

Our time to make an impact on others is short.

So, consider this a reminder. Don’t miss your opportunity to impact someone else.

If you believe in them, show them today.

If you love them, show them today.

Take action now. Don’t let the days pass you by.

Make it a great day.

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone can give another person. He believed in me. – Jim Valvano

What a great quote and thought for today.

As a father, it has a particular effect on me, but I think it applies to all of us.

As I have said before, everyone we meet is someone’s little boy or girl. Everyone is that miracle that their father and mother held when they were born, staring into their little face believing in all the possibilities this new life held.

Our job is to see that in others (and ourselves) and to act on that belief.

We all have a chance to inspire others through our belief in them.

So, let me start today of by saying that I believe in you.

I believe in all that you are.

I believe in all that you can be.

I believe in you.

Show and/or tell someone today that you believe in them.

Make it a great day.

The direction we go is determined by the direction we face.

It’s like when you are driving and you turn to look at something and the car starts to move that way too.

And we face in the direction of what has our attention.

What has your attention?

Are you focused on reading a self improvement book or the latest and greatest TV show?

Are you focused on managing your budget or on that new gadget you want to buy?

Our goals are truly powerful when they capture our attention and we focus in on them.

Make it a great day.

The Phrase That Pays

EB* – “Surely, you can’t be serious?” “I am serious….and don’t call me Shirley.”

MS* – “I’m in a glass case of emotion!”

JW* – “If peeing your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis.”

BAD – “I have nipples, Greg. Could you milk me?”

JD – “That’s so funny the last time I heard that I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur.”

No management meeting today, so I thought I would add a little comedy with a few random movie quotes.

Bonus activity for a Friday afternoon:

Whoever names the Movie that each of these is from first wins a nickel.

Ready….go!
