For this week, I thought I would send out a few messages (from the past or new this week) about Easter. As I grow older and more and more life happens around and to me, I am reminded constantly that we all need Easter. This year I’d like to include an invitation for each and every one of you. Come to church on Sunday and if you were already going, invite someone else.
I believe in Christ, like I believe in the sun – not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else. – CS Lewis
The greatness of Easter is that it didn’t end on that day. Jesus promised us that he would be with and in us if we only ask.
Through this new kind of relationship, we would be able to see life in a new light. To see the world through His eyes.
I certainly get this as right as I would like to.
I fall short of this ideal in some way every day.
But when I get it right, life is better. Not always easier, but better.
Easter is an invitation to live a fuller life. To renew again our commitment to a better and more abundant life. To place love above all else, even our own lives.
My sincere hope for all of you is that you will either accept this invitation, renew your commitment to this ideal and/or help someone else to find it for themselves.
Make it a great day.
Jake
